Back to School: Three Things to Power up your Breakfast

With the kids back at school, the morning routine is in full swing again - packing school bags, organising lunches and making sure homework is complete - it’s hardly surprising that breakfast can end up being a grab-and-go meal.

Thankfully making a delicious and healthy breakfast to set children up for the school day doesn’t have to be time-consuming. Check out some of our Cherry Good breakfast ideas to help you on your way.   

 

Porridge with Berries

With the summer coming to a close and mornings feeling a little chillier we’ve found ourselves reaching for a warming bowl of porridge at breakfast time. Oats can be a great source of fibre, releasing energy slowly throughout the day which can help keep little tummies fuller for longer. Why not top off their porridge with some deliciously fresh cherries to really set them up for the day?

 

 Cherry Jam on Wholemeal Toast

For those really hectic mornings, a slice of wholemeal bread topped with jam can give your family a much needed burst of energy. Keep breakfast exciting by popping a selection of jams and spreads on the table in the morning for your little ones to enjoy.

 

Greek Yoghurt and Fresh Fruit

Have you considered having a dollop of Greek yoghurt with cereal in the morning? Greek yoghurt has more protein than any other yoghurt preparing children for an active day and, is also packed with probiotics for happy little tummies. We love adding fresh berries on top for one of our five a day.

 

Once your table is set up for breakfast with one (or all) of these delicious dishes, grab a carton of chilled Cherry Good from the fridge to round off your children’s’ breakfast with a refreshing, fruity finish.
